Castles above the Fiume Sangro

The ride

Roll out of Scerni and follow the Sinello river before climbing to the Castello Ducale Bassi-D'Alanno. Onward past the Palazzo baronale, the route meets the Sangro river and slips through the Lecceta di Torino di Sangro nature reserve. The Osento river rounds things off before the road brings you home to Scerni, with 1517 m of climbing packed into the day.
