The ride
Roll out of Vellberg and straight into the Unteres Bühlertal nature reserve, then past castle after castle — Burg Buch, Burg Anhausen and Burg Hohenstein. The Kocher river joins the fun before Geyersburg castle, and the route loops through the Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald nature reserve and the Kochertal reserve near Westheim and Steinbach. With 60.9 km and 972 m of climbing, mostly unpaved, it's a proper day out. Back to Vellberg you roll.
