The ride

Roll out of Soetrich and past the Ouvrage de Soetrich fort before the route follows La Moselle and the Canalised Moselle. Of the 54.4 km, a little more than half runs unpaved, and 480 m of climbing keeps the legs honest. Beyond the water you cross Le Grund nature reserve and the Vallon de Halling nature reserve, then swing back to Soetrich. Forts, rivers and two reserves in one loop.
