The ride
This 76.4 km loop starts and finishes at Parkeerplaats Eiderberg bei Freudenburg, heading out through the Eiderberg nature reserve. Next come the Saarschleife und Leukbachtal and Saar-Hunsrück nature reserves, then the Hammelsberg und Atzbüsch bei Perl reserve. The route passes Château de Schengen and Burg Wincheringen, both castles, before climbing back through 1236 m of elevation gain. The surface is almost entirely paved, with a small unpaved share.
