From Heiligenberg you roll out past the Ruschweiler und Volzer See nature reserve and on through the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried, with castle after castle ahead: Schloß Königsegg, the Bischofschloss and the Hexenturm. Then it's on past the Markdorfer Eisweiher nature reserve and through the Gehau forest to Burg Ittendorf, before the loop brings you home. Along the way you climb 995 m, and the 79.6 km run almost entirely on paved surface.
