From Parkeerplaats Büchsenberg the route rolls out past the Kaiserstuhlblick-Totenkopf viewpoint, then on through the Schelinger Weide-Barzental and Dachslöcher Buck nature reserves. Burg Sponeck and Kastell Sasbach-Jechtingen bring two castles, before the Rheinhalde Burkheim reserve and Rappennestgießen lead to Schloss Burkheim. With 54.6 km and 620 m of climbing, most of it runs unpaved.
