From Baiersbronn you roll out on a 62.7 km loop, mostly unpaved, and the climbing starts early. Up past the Kniebis-Alexanderschanze nature reserve, over the Schliffkopf nature reserve, then down through the Gottschlägtal - Karlsruher Grat nature reserve. On to the Wilder See - Hornisgrinde nature reserve before the road turns you back toward Baiersbronn.
