The ride
Roll out of Tione degli Abruzzi and follow the Aterno river before climbing into the Sirente-Velino nature reserve. Past the castle of Barisciano and the castle of Bominaco, the route keeps unfolding over unpaved ground. With 2017 m of elevation gain across the loop, the climbs come steadily, and the ride ends back in the village where it began.
