Castles along the Allier

The ride

Roll out of Saint-Germain-de-Salles and the castles start early: Château de Salles, then Château de Chambon, before the road meets the Allier. Further on, the Château-fort de Billy and the Mourgon keep you company, and the Vichy nature reserve zone rounds out the ride before Château d'Escurolles. The route runs 89.9 km with 733 m of climbing, entirely on paved surface, and brings you back to where you began.
