From Heerenveen you roll out along the Helomafeart canal, then past Et Wiede and the Tsjûkemar lakes before the Skarster Rien canal takes you onward. Further along stands the Tjepkemamolen windmill, followed by Crackstate and Oenemastate castles. Of the 60.9 km, most is paved and a quarter unpaved, with just 41 m of climbing. Then it's back to Heerenveen.
