This ride rolls out of Formia and heads for Torre Caetani, a castle that sets the tone early. From there the route climbs into the Parco dei Monti Aurunci, a nature reserve where the metres pile up — 2205 of them across the day. With 41% of the 65.8 km unpaved, the surface keeps changing under your wheels. Then it's back down to Formia to close the loop.
