Roll out of Altenberge and past the Kappenwindmühle windmill, then on to the Mervelder Hof manor and the Sendenhof with its castle gate. The route climbs gently through Herrenholz und Schöppinger Berg before dipping into the Am Bagno - Buchenberg reserve. Schloss Steinfurt's castle marks the turn, and the Emsaue and Rieselfelder reserves carry you home over 86.2 km, almost all of it paved.
