Roll out from Parkeerplaats Hochweitzschener Wald and the ride unfolds past Schloss Schweta, a castle, before the route follows the Zschopau, a river, onward. Next come Maylust and Scheergrund, both nature reserves, and then the Hochweitzschener Wald nature reserve itself. All 76.0 km are paved, with 861 m of climbing along the way. The loop closes back at the parking area where it began.
