Roll out of Appingedam and follow the Oude Eemskanaal, then past the windmill De Groote Polder. The route runs through 't Roegwold nature reserve, by Borg Ewsum castle and along the Boterdiep canal, before the castle Menkemaborg. All 99.3 km is paved, with just 66 m of climbing, and it finishes back in Appingedam.
