The ride
Roll out of Salers and let the climbing begin: 69.6 km with 1970 m of elevation gain, all on paved roads. Past the Maison du Bailliage castle, the route drops to the La Maronne river before climbing again to the Château de Lamargé. From there the road follows the L'Aspre and La Bertrande rivers, then the Le Mars, winding through the valleys. The loop closes back in Salers, with the metres ticking up all the way.
