The ride
Roll out of Alfeld and straight into the Naturpark Fränkische Schweiz - Frankenjura, then follow the Pegnitz river onward. The Lehendorf-Blick viewpoint breaks up the climb before the route dips through Högenbachtal and the Lichtenegg and Beselberg mit westlichem Birgland nature reserve. With 57.8 km and 1567 m of climbing, most of it unpaved, this one keeps you working all the way to the Rinntal bei Alfeld nature reserve and back to Alfeld.
