From Le Lac-d'Issarlès you roll out and soon meet the Loire, then head into the Parc naturel régional des Monts d'Ardèche. The route keeps climbing, with 1711 m of elevation gain across 64.4 km, mostly on unpaved tracks. You pass the Ruisseau de Mazan and La Padelle before turning back to the start village.
