The ride

From Lanarce you roll out toward the Parc naturel régional des Monts d'Ardèche, then on past the Château de Mariac. Along the way the route crosses La Loire and later L'Espézonnette, two rivers that break up the climbing. With 1378 m of elevation gain over 55.4 km, the pedals rarely get a rest, and most of the way is unpaved. It all loops back to Lanarce.
