The ride

Roll out of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne and let the ride unfold along the water, following the Chalaronne, the Morte, the Veyle and the Irance as they thread through the countryside. Castles mark the way: the Château de Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne near the start, then Belvey and Varax further on, before the Château des Vernes manor turns you for home. All 73.2 km are paved, so the route rolls on asphalt from first pedal to last. Back in the village, the loop closes where it began.
