Roll out of Baumholder and let the climbing begin: 1509 m of elevation gain over 77.1 km, almost all on paved roads. The Nahe river sets the tone before Burg Frauenburg rises into view, then it's on through the Kammerwoog - Krechelsfels nature reserve and past the Fischbacher Felsen. The Saar-Hunsrück nature reserve carries you toward the finish, and the road brings you home to Baumholder.
