Gravel loop past Pantano Auruca and Pantano Baronello

The ride

Roll out of Marzamemi and the ride soon leaves the paved behind: 57.4 km with roughly half on unpaved surface. The route strings together four lakes in turn — Pantano Gorgo Salato, Pantano Bruno, Pantano Auruca and Pantano Baronello — each one a quiet stretch of water to tick off as you go. With 316 m of elevation gain, the climbing stays modest and the legs keep turning. Then it's back to Marzamemi to finish where you began.
