The ride

Roll out of Colmenar Viejo and let the ride take you into the Parque Regional de la Cuenca Alta del Manzanares, a nature reserve that sets the tone for the day. From there the route runs on to the Embalse de Santillana, the lake where you can pause before turning for home. With 64.7 km and 1037 m of climbing, most of it on unpaved tracks, it's a loop that keeps you working and keeps the views changing. Back in Colmenar Viejo, you'll have earned whatever comes next.
