The ride

This 65.0 km loop sets off from Markina-Xemein and climbs its way to 3035 m of elevation gain. You ride out past the Artibai ibaia river, then follow the Lea ibaia, with most of the route running unpaved. The Urdaibaiko Biosfera Erreserba nature reserve opens up before the road turns you back toward home. Rolling out of the village and returning to it, the ride keeps rivers and reserve in steady view.
