Climbs between La Loire and La Semène

The ride

From Saint-Maurice-en-Gourgois you roll out toward the Loire, then follow the river into the gorges de la Loire nature reserve. The route climbs on through the Pilat regional nature park and past the Semène, with 1532 m of elevation gain along the way. Two castles close the loop — the Château seigneurial d'Aurec and the Château de Chazourne — before you return to the start village.
