The ride
From la Vila Joiosa the road climbs away and soon follows the Riu Amadòrio, then the Riu de Sella and the Riu de Guadalest, each river a marker on the way. Further on the route traces the Riu Algar before reaching the Torre de Bellaguarda viewpoint. The 97.4 km loop is fully paved and gains 2361 m, so the climbing comes in steady helpings. Rivers, a tower and the return to the start village fill the day.
