Roll out of Banyeres de Mariola and the climbing begins, with the castle watching over the start. The route follows the Vinalopó and Montnegre rivers before crossing the Serra del Maigmó i Serra del Sit nature reserve. Castles at Castalla and Biar break up the climbing across 76.8 km, and the road back to Banyeres closes the loop.
