Castles between Le Rhône and La Varèze

The ride

Roll out of Clonas-sur-Varèze and the castles start early: the old Commanderie de Lachal, then Château de Larnage, with the Le Bancel river slipping by in between. Later comes Château de Gourdan, followed by a stretch through the Parc naturel régional du Pilat and on past Château de Virieu. The loop closes along the Le Rhône and the La Varèze, all 86.1 km of it on paved surface, before you're back where you began.
