Roll out of Melk for a ride that starts gently in the Wachau nature reserve before opening up along the Mank and Erlauf rivers. Castles stack up as you go: Schloss Wieselburg, Burg Pöbring, Schloss Leiben and Schloss Rothenhof, each one a marker on the way. After the Pielach river the road turns you back toward Melk. It's 84.3 km with 1435 m of climbing, all on paved surface.
