Castle route between Bannwaldsee and the Lech

The ride

Roll out of Buching and follow the Lech river before the route slips into Sulzschneider Forst. Onward you pass Burgruine Hopfen am See and Schloss Bullachberg, two castles, then ride through Naturschutzgebiet Bannwaldsee, a nature reserve, and the Bannwald forest. Of the 60.2 km, roughly half is unpaved, with 638 m of climbing along the way. The loop then brings you back to Buching.
