Castle loop between Trujillo and Madroñera

The ride

Roll out of Trujillo and the castles come thick and fast: Alcazarejo de los Altamirano, Palacio de Lorenzana, the Alcazaba de Trujillo and Casa-Fuerte de Luis de Chaves. Between them the route dips to the Río Tozo and crosses the Río Magasca. A spin through the Geoparque Villuercas-Ibores-Jara nature reserve rounds things off before the ride returns to Trujillo. It's 70.9 km, all of it paved, with 660 m of climbing along the way.
