Roll out of Saizerais and the route soon swings into the Parc naturel régional de Lorraine, a nature reserve that sets the tone for the day. From there it follows La Moselle Canalisée and then La Moselle itself, with 57.6 km of riding that mixes 20% paved and 79% unpaved surface. Le Terrouin joins the picture before the loop turns back to Saizerais, with 620 m of climbing spread along the way.
