The ride

Roll out of Saignes and the route soon enters the Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, with 1513 m of climbing across 75.3 km of paved road. Two castles follow in riding order, Montbrun and la Trémolière, before the road meets La Dordogne, then La Triouzoune and La Sumène. Every metre is paved, so the day stays on asphalt from start to finish. The loop closes back in Saignes.
