Roll out of Hardinxveld-Giessendam and the Giessen leads you through one nature reserve after another, from Eiland in de Giessen to Schaayk. Then the forts begin: Werk op de Spoorweg bij de Diefdijk, Fort bij Asperen, Fort bij de Nieuwe Steeg. The route ends at Vesting Zaltbommel, a castle, before the ride returns home. All 96.0 km is paved, with just 103 m of climbing along the way.
