The ride

Roll out of Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines and let the forêt de Rambouillet pull you in first, a nature reserve where the trees do most of the talking. Next comes the Parc naturel régional de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, another stretch of protected green, before the Palais du Roi de Rome stands up as a castle on your way. You finish along La Rémarde, the river that sees you home. Most of the route runs unpaved, so expect a mixed bag under your wheels.
