Roll out of Steenwijk and let the ride unfold: first past the windmill Windlust, then into the Drents-Friese Wold & Leggelderveld nature reserve, on through the Holtingerveld reserve. Follow the Drentsche Hoofdvaart canal and the Wold Aa river, with the windmill De Wieker Meule and the castle Havixhorst along the way. The 90.8 km loop is 99% paved, and with just 84 m of climbing it rolls back to Steenwijk.
