From Saint-Max you roll out to the Plateau de Malzéville nature reserve, then follow the Amezule and the Meurthe rivers onward. The Château de Fléville and later the Château de Saulxures-lès-Nancy mark the way, with the Canal de Jonction de Nancy in between. Of the 60.4 km, most runs unpaved, and 818 m of climbing keeps things lively before you loop back to Saint-Max.
