The ride

From Brioude you roll out toward the Livradois-Forez nature reserve, then follow the Allier river before the road climbs past the Château d'Auzon and on to the Château de Servières. After the second castle you meet the Senouire river, and the loop closes along the Béal de Brioude back into town. It's 80.4 km with 1452 m of climbing, almost all of it on paved surface.
