Roll out from Parkeerplaats Karlstalschlucht and the castles start coming: Trippstadter Schloss, then the Karlstalschlucht nature reserve, Burg Wilenstein and Burg Nanstein. Three nature reserves follow — Östliche Pfälzer Moorniederung, Rodenbacher Bruch and Aschbachtal-Jagdhausweiher — before the loop returns to the start. It's 69.1 km with 1025 m of climbing, almost all on paved surface. Castles, reserves and one steady spin back to the parking area.
