Roll out of Monticiano and let the ride unfold toward the Riserva Naturale La Pietra, a nature reserve that sets the tone early. From there the route follows the Fiume Merse and later the Fiume Feccia, river after river, before looping back to the village. It's 59.5 km with 1497 m of climbing, and the surface is mostly unpaved, so expect a mixed day under your wheels. Start and finish in the same place, with plenty of up along the way.
