Roll out of Montesarchio and the climbing begins, with 1652 m of elevation gain waiting across the route. You pass the castle of Montesarchio, then the wetlands reserve of Oasi LIPU Zone Umide Beneventane and the castle of Tufo before the Sabato river comes into view. Nature reserves at Taburno-Camposauro and Partenio frame the ride, and every metre is paved. Back in Montesarchio, the loop closes where it started.
