Roll out of Caulnes and the route soon slips into the Parc naturel régional Vallée de la Rance - Côte d'Émeraude, a nature reserve that sets the tone. The Le Guinefort river joins the ride, then the La Rance, then the Le Linon, each one ticking off the kilometres as you go. With 70.4 km ahead and 540 m of climbing, the legs get a gentle workout between the water and the trees. Paved the whole way, the loop turns for home and delivers you back to Caulnes.
