Along the Ancre to Thiepval

The ride

Roll out of Sailly-Laurette and let the route carry you along the Ancre, a river that sets the tone early. Next comes the Étang du Vélodrome, a lake that breaks up the riding, before the Bois des Fourcaux forest wraps you in shade for a stretch. Then it's on to La Somme, another river, and back to where you started after 78.8 km of paved riding with 613 m of climbing along the way.
