Roll out from Parkeerplaats Runstwiesen und Totenmoos and let the castles lead the way. Past Schloss Offenberg you dip into the Runstwiesen und Totenmoos nature reserve, then climb on to Schloss Egg before the route turns wilder. The Vogelfreistätte Graureiherkolonie bei Kleinschwarzach, the Brutbiotop and the Nahrungsbiotop follow, each one a nature reserve in its own right. With 66.5 km and 1430 m of climbing, mostly unpaved, it's a day that keeps unfolding.
